Thetford Carnegie Rooms

Austin Heating & Cooling Services worked closely with Thetford Town Council to design a new air conditioning system for the Carnegie Rooms. The design was made difficult by the existing layout of the building and lighting system, along with various planning restrictions.

The final design provided heating and cooling to the hall via an energy efficient heat pump air conditioning system manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric. A number of fan coil units were installed in two banks in the main hall and were fed by two City Multi condensing units. Two smaller systems were installed in the first floor meeting rooms.

The systems provide highly efficient heating during the winter and cooling during the summer. The new system has already proved a hit with the amateur dramatics groups and fitness classes that regularly use the hall who can now exercise and perform in a nice cool environment.

Brandon Leisure Centre

Austin Heating & Cooling Services successfully tendered for the replacement of the boilers and hot water cylinders at the Brandon Leisure center for Forest Heath District Council.

The old cast iron gas boilers were removed along with the pumps, pipework and hot water cylinder.

A complete new plant room was installed, with new condensing gas boilers, gas fired water heaters, new pumps and a new control system.

The replacement was carried out during January and February and the sports center remained active the entire time, meaning that a temporary boiler house had to be installed to provide heat and hot water to the center whilst the works were carried out. The job ran smoothly and was completed before the target deadline and the center is now enjoying lower heating bills and proper showers, thanks to the new hot water system.

Thetford Meeting House

Austin Heating & Cooling Services worked with main contractors Mixbrow construction, on the extension and refurbishment of the Thetford Meeting House.

As part of the project we extended the heating system to the new extension, fitting new radiators in the process, altered the heating in the main hall and carried out the complete replacement of the boilers, pumps and pipe work in the plant room. The old boiler was removed and the plant room made smaller to allow for a cleaners cupboard to be built. The provided several challenges fitting the new boilers and pumps into the new space.

With the new boilers and pipe work fitted and working the church had a new, energy efficient plant room, which will provide them with heating and hot water for years to come.
